Heights Brother and Sister Team Up in Real Estate Venture

Hasbrouck Heights' Michael and Michelle Maccaquano have always made a great team.

So teaming up in a business venture was just something that came naturally to this brother and sister team. Now they are the one-and-only brother-sister real estate team at DeSimone Prestige Realty on the Boulevard. 

"It's double the power," says Michael of their new venture. It's two agents for the price of one working together to market for their clients, he says. Husband and wife real estate teams are certainly not uncommon but a brother-sister team is not something one sees everyday, the pair says. It's something they felt they should do together.

Michelle says this is something they've wanted to do for a number of years but at the time family obligations made it difficult but now the time is to take on this opportuity.

Michael has had his real estate license for about 7 years and Michelle more recently obtained hers. They both have other professional careers: Michelle is a teacher and Michael works in sales for  a technology company.

The two say they love working with Jimmy [DeSimone] who is so family oriented and professional.

Unlike many siblings out there they are very close. They've owned property together, even at one point out of college shared an apartment together. Their ability to work so well together will be a great advantage in what they can offer clients, the pair says.

"People say to me it's odd that we get along so well but we always have," Michelle says about their sibling closeness.

Each brings something to the table. Michelle is the creative one and Michael is the negotiator, the numbers guy, he says.

The team is putting most of their focus in Hasbrouck Heights the town they grew up in and still call home.

"We try to both be available to showings. We make a strong force and that gives clients some ease," says Michael.
