Flash Flooding Closes Part Of Route 17

Breaking: Flash flooding has closed the highway in Hasbrouck Heights. Traffic is using the shoulder to get by.

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — Flash flooding on Route 17 North has closed part of the highway.

All lanes on Route 17 northbound above Route 46 are closed, according to 511nj.org, the state's emergency traffic notification website.

Motorists are using the shoulder to drive on Route 17 North, the website reported.

Flash floods were reported throughout Bergen County Monday, including on Route 208. The Ho-Ho-Kus Brook is at flood stage.
