Hasbrouck Heights Investigating Police Department: Report
Notice about the investigation comes 2 weeks after police officers issued a vote of no confidence in Chief Michael Colaneri.
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — The police department will be reviewed two weeks after officers issued a vote of no confidence in chief Michael Colaneri, according to a report on NorthJersey.com.
Mayor John "Jack" DeLorenzo said he wants to resolve the issue of the patrol division presenting a vote of no confidence in Colaneri's leadership abilities at the Aug. 15 council meeting, according to the report.
"For as long as I can remember, the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department has always been a well-respected law enforcement. I am very disappointed with the current circumstances," DeLorenzo said in a statement, who noted that the president of the PBA Local 102, along with the majority of the patrol division have asked for local officials' assistance. "I will do whatever is necessary to get the department on the right track. I assure you that I have full confidence that the officers will continue to perform their duties in a professional manner, protecting and serving our community, while we work to resolve these issues."
