Hasbrouck Heights Makes List Of Safest NJ Towns
Alarms.org looked at violent crime rate as part of its annual rankings.

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — The borough was named one of the safest municipality in New Jersey in a new ranking.
Alarms.org released it annual list of the safest cities in New Jersey recently.
Hasbrouck Heights was ranked No. 47.

River Vale Township was ranked No. 1. It did not log a single violent crime in the latest year for which there is data, and boasts a property crime rate of just 2.59 per 1,000 residents, according to the website.
New Milford was ranked No. 2. It has crime rates that are almost as low, with 0.12 violent crimes and 2.44 property crimes per 1,000.

Other Bergen County municipalities ranked in the top 20 were: Hillsdale at No. 7, Bergenfield at No. 9 and Westwood and Tenafly at Nos. 15 and 18, respectively.

- 46th: Palisades Park
- 41st: Wyckoff
- 37th: Oakland
- 34th: Waldwick
- 33rd: Mahwah
- 30th: River Edge
- 27th: Ridgefield
