Heights Library Gears Up for Family Fun Night

Journey to the Center of the World right in the town's library. Annual Summer Bash event is all set for Friday, Aug. 2.

Next Friday Hasbrouck Heights folks can journey to the center of the world just by visiting the local library.

The Hasbrouck Heights Library staff and volunteers are busy at work once again gearing up to transform the library from ceiling to floor into a magical world of fun where children and their parents can enjoy a night out Friday, Aug. 2 right in their own neighborhood

Award-winning children's recording artist Yosi and puppeteer/actor Johnny Beirne of the Eugene show will be the featured act and there will be two screenings of the movie "Oz."  Lots of activities are planned to keep everyone entertained from taking part in a dingo dig exploration to making fossils and going on a scavenger hunt. In the cafe area of the library they  will serve lots of fun-themed snacks. 

Event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. 

The schedule is as follows:

  • 7 p.m. - Eugene Concert Show 
  • 8 p.m. - Movie screening of "Oz - the Great & Poweful" starring James Franco
  • 8 p.m. and 9 p.m - Discover the World of Cave Animals
  • 10 p.m. - Learn from the Boy Scouts: How to Survive Middle Earth and Live to Tell About It.
  • 11 p.m. Second screening of "Oz - the Great & Powerful
To help defray costs a donation of $5 for children under 12 years old and $8 donation for anyone 12 and older is suggested. Refreshments are included.
