Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ Should Be Held Accountable

Now that we know Horizon was untruthful about it OMNIA plan, it's time for the state to act.

Nearly two months ago, I read an article in the Star-Ledger (https://www.nj.com/politics/in...) that
revealed that Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield misled the public about how and why it created its Horizon OMNIA plan. Apparently, the sole purpose of the plan was to pad the pockets of Horizon executives at the expense of patient care.

My mom was one of the thousands of Horizon customers who were forced to leave their trusted doctors and community hospital because staying with them would have cost more. It was a trying process for my mom and I'm furious the reason for it was to boost profits for Horizon. And I'm even more upset now that it appears nothing is being done about it despite the truth being out.

Shouldn't Horizon executives be held accountable for their actions? Why is the state allowing Horizon to manipulate the market? The public deserves to know more about the secret deals Horizon made with the state's largest hospitals and the impact its having on patient care. Horizon is a nonprofit. It's time the state held the company accountable as one!
