Woman Killed in Route 17 Car Crash Was Mother of Infant
The father of the child remains in serious condition, reports say. The couple was from Carlstadt.

The woman killed in the one-car crash on Route 17 north Tuesday morning has been identified as a 31-year old Carlstadt mother of a one-year old baby, according to NorthJersey.com.
Manjut Kaur, who was said to be the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report. The report says the passenger identified as Perdip Singh, 29, the father of the infant, remains in serious condition at Hackensack University Medical Center.
The child was found at the Carlstadt home with a grandfather, the report said.Â
According to initial reports, a black Honda Accord struck a metal pole near the Essex Street exit of Rt. 17 North. A photo on NorthJersey.com shows the vehicle seemingly severed by the force of the crash.
Police believe Kaur was driving Singh to work when the accident occurred after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to NorthJersey.com. The roadway had been shut down for most of the morning while the investigation was underway.Â
Bergen County Police did not immediately return calls for comment .Â
