Sierra Club Endorses Hillmann For Hasbrouck Heights Mayor
'It is more important than ever to have legislators in New Jersey fighting to protect our environment,' the Sierra Club's director said.

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — A leading environmental nonprofit has endorsed Christopher Hillmann's bid to become the next mayor of Hasbrouck Heights.
Hillman, a Democrat, was just one of two municipal candidates to receive the endorsement of the New Jersey Sierra Club.
Hillman was first elected to the Hasbrouck Heights Borough Council in 2017. His term began in January 2018.

Hillman has years of experience working in government. He was executive assistant to Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney, field director for New Jersey Legislative District 38 in 2006 and 2007, respectively, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He was chief of staff to Assemblywoman Connie Wager for and to Assemblyman Tim Eustace for nearly six years each. Hillman has been director of legislative affairs of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission since January 2018.

Hillman and dozens of State Legislature candidates, including Lisa Swain and Chris Tully, received the endorsement after a lengthy vetting process by the Sierra Club. Tully and Swain represent the 38th Legislative District, which includes Hasbrouck Heights.
"We are proud to endorse these candidates for election and re-election because they will stand up for the environment in New Jersey," Jeff Tittel, director of the New Jersey Sierra Club. "We are in a climate crisis, and it is more important than ever to have legislators in New Jersey fighting to protect our environment."
