Video: Governor Christie Argues About Pension Reform in Hasbrouck Heights

Governor was at a town hall meeting discussing the state's ailing public-employee pension system.

Governor Christie argued about the state’s ailing pension system with a teacher’s husband in a Hasbrouck Heights town hall meeting with residents recently.

The governor got into a discussion with Steve Panagiotou whose wife, Kristen, is a kindergarten teacher in Teaneck. Panagiotou and his wife are concerned that they won’t receive a pension when she retires.

“There is money you can find to fund the pension,” Panagiotou said.

“Where?” Christie asked. “We don’t have the money to pay it. The revenue did not come in. You can’t pay what you don’t have.”
