Weekly suggestions for some weekend fun

Aside from taking your sweetheart out to dinner this weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day there are many other fun events happening in town and the area this weekend.

1. Valentine’s Day Dance
Where/When:
The along with the Ladies Auxiliary will host a Valentine’s Day Dance this coming Saturday, Feb. 12 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the VFW Hall on Veterans place.  
Why Go: Support your local organization and enjoy a dinner which includes classic Caesar salad, baked ziti and chicken florentino. Draft beer, wine and soda are also included
Pricing:   Cost is $30 in advance and $35 at the door. The cost is $25 for high school students. Those interested in attending should call Pete at 201-638-4294 or Rita at 201-933-3440. High school students should call Cheryl at 201-393-0440 to RSVP.

2. Charity Ball at the Elks Lodge
Where/When:
#1962 on Baldwin Avenue hosts a charity ball to benefit special needs children. Saturday, Feb. 12 from 7 to 11:30 p.m.
Why Go: Support a good cause and your local organization. The night includes a full course dinner and dancing.

3. Celebrate Valentine's Day with The Temptations and The Four Tops
Where/When
: bergenPAC, 30 N. Van Brunt, Englewood Sunday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.  
Why Go
: These two super groups take the stage and perform their classic hits 
Pricing
: Prices range from $29 to $99

4. Otto & George and Asbury Fever at Blend
Where/When
: Blend Bar, 17 Chestnut Street, Ridgewood at 8 p.m.
Why Go
: Enjoy the off-beat, off-color adult humor of ventriloquism act Otto & George at 8 p.m. followed by live music by Asbury Fever a Bruce Springsteen tribute band at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12.

: $20 cover charge

5. Bill Blagg: A Night of Magic
Where/When: Saturday 8 p.m.; Berrie Center, Ramapo College of New Jersey, 505 Ramapo Valley Road, Mahwah
Why Go: A Night of Magic is a Las Vegas-style family show full of grand-scale magic and illusion. Bill Blagg is breaking the mold of the typical magician with his one-of-a-kind, high-energy magic spectacular, which has been described as somewhere between Second City and David Copperfield.
