3 'Sister' Women's Marches Will Be In North Jersey Saturday

Sister marches will be held in Wyckoff, Leonia and Pequannock to coincide with the Women's March on Washington this Saturday.

Three marches will be held in North Jersey Saturday to coincide with the Women's March on Washington.

The Women's March on Washington is a grassroots organization, where women will march to the White House on President Donald Trump's first full day in office to show their support on women's rights and issues. About 400 women from nearby Ridgewood, Glen Rock and Paramus will participate in the march.

Marchers will gather at the Wyckoff Town Hall, 340 Franklin Ave., at 8 a.m. to march. The march will be concluded by 9:30 a.m., the Women's March on Washington website states.

Marches will also be held at:

  • Pequannock Town Hall, 530 Newark-Pompton Turnpike, at 11 a.m.
  • Leonia Middle School, 500 Broad Ave., at 9:30 a.m.

"We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families - recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country," the organization's mission statement says.

Marches will also be held in Trenton, Westfield, Asbury Park and Mount Laurel, along with more than 600 others throughout the country.
