Following the news of his release, Weatherford issued a heartfelt video thanking the community and fans for his time with the team.

The punter also made local headlines in June of 2015 when he crashed on the NJ Turnpike during a severe storm.

Weatherford’s former teammate Eli Manning also made recent headlines when he announced that his Hoboken condo on Hudson Street was available for rent at a rate of $18,000 per month.
