'Green' Apartment Building In Hoboken Celebrates Grand Opening
Park and Garden features LEED Gold certification, a vegetated roof terrace and charging bays for electric cars.

Park and Garden, Bijou Properties’ latest “sustainable residential development” in Hoboken, celebrated its grand opening on Thursday.
According to a release, the building has already reserved more than 30 percent of its 212 units.
According to a release, the building has been designed for LEED Gold certification, and includes a vegetated roof terrace that will reduce storm water runoff, a CHP (combined heat and power) module that produces hot water and electricity using a single natural gas fuel source, charging bays for electric cars and spaces for 200 bicycles.

In addition, the heating, cooling and lighting designs - in conjunction with a high-performance building envelope and the CHP module - aim to achieve a 20 percent reduction in energy usage based on industry standard comparisons, developers stated.
Located at 1450 Garden Street, the 12-story building features a mix of one, two and three-bedroom residences. Immediate occupancy is available.

Designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve, the mixed-use building also features 13,000 square feet of street-level retail space and 32,000 square feet of educational space.
Monthly rents start at $3,250.
