Hoboken Developers Break Ground On Luxury Apartments, Public Gym/Park
A 14-story luxury residential building on Jackson Street is expected to be completed in mid-2019, developers said.
HOBOKEN, NJ — Development partners Bijou Properties and Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation have officially broken ground on a multi-faceted project that includes a 424-unit luxury rental building, a 6,835 square-foot public gymnasium and a two-acre resiliency park in Hoboken.
The developers issued a joint statement announcing the groundbreaking on Wednesday.
Located at 700 Jackson Street, the 14-story mixed-use rental building was designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve Architects and will include luxury residences and 90,000 square feet of “upscale amenities,” including a penthouse pool and roof deck, and 25,000 square-feet of ground floor retail space.

An adjacent two-acre park will be split between a one-acre open grass area and children’s playground and a one-acre public plaza designed for active and passive recreation uses, developers stated.
Construction is expected to be completed in mid-2019, developers said.

The project – which is rising near the 9th Street Hudson-Bergen Light Rail Station - is part of the larger redevelopment of Hoboken’s western edge into a “vibrant and active pedestrian-friendly neighborhood,” developers stated.
