German School Launches New Virtual Camps, July 7 to 23, 2020

Since March 2020, students at the non-profit German Language School in Holmdel, Princeton and Rumson (http://www.njlearnsgerman.org) have taken classes virtually, culminating in the year-end school awards celebration that included accolades for students who passed the German Language Diploma, National German Language Exam, received book awards from their teachers, and students inducted into the German National Honor Society and Junior German National Honor Society.

As a result of the successful virtual school, this year, the German Language School will offer its first-ever weekly camp, also virtually, from July 7 to 23, 2020, for students of all ages, including adult learners. The camps will provide opportunities to learn German thorough weekly themed activities from fairy tales to STEAM to short story video production and more, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students taking these national exams now have the option to pursue a tuition-free, post-secondary education at German-speaking universities and technical schools in Europe.”
What are the Exams and Awards for German Language Students?
The German Language School is a Partner School with the ###a name="OLE_LINK2">German Federal Republic’s Agency for German Schools Abroad (ZfA), (German Language Diploma. The ZfA supports German language schools worldwide with professional development, teaching and classroom materials, as well as funding. Students who demonstrate higher levels of comprehension and communication are eligible to study at universities and technical schools throughout the German-speaking nations of Europe.
The National German Language Exam, administered annually to more than 16,000 high school students by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG), also assesses verbal and written proficiency, including reading and writing comprehension and speaking.
