Two Famous Chefs Will Help A Local Non-Profit Raise Money
We Make, Autism At Work, a local agency in Pennington announces its Celebrity Chef Harvest Event

Hopewell-Pennington, NJ—We Make, Autism At Work, an agency serving persons on the autism spectrum will work with Chef Kwame Onwuachi and Pastry Chef Jeremiah Josey to help raise money for the organization’s employment and enrichment programs. The gathering is entitled “Celebrity Chef Harvest Event” and will take place virtually on November 8, 2020, from 1 to 3 PM. The Celebrity Chefs will guide participants through the steps of making delicious dishes just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, and everyone will be able to follow along in their own kitchens.
Moe Siddiqu, We Make’s Executive Director and brains behind this innovative fundraising event said “We were searching for a creative way to involve the people and families we serve at We Make and reach a more global audience. We have supporters who are connected to these two amazing chefs and are so grateful that they both signed on to help us raise the funds we need to continue providing our services to persons diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.”
Kwame Onwuachi was a contestant on Top Chef in 2015 and is an American chef based in Washington, D.C., and Manhattan, NY. He has been acknowledged by Food & Wine magazine, Esquire magazine, and was the James Beard Foundation "Rising Star Chef of the year." He is also an author and recently published Notes from a Young Black Chef: A Memoir which he also narrates in the audio version.

Jeremiah Josey is a Maryland based pastry chef, author, model and inspirational speaker, who also happens to be autistic. The 20-something realized his appetite for baking when he was a teen, in the kitchen spending time with his grandmother. Josey stated, “just because you have a disability doesn’t mean you cannot pursue your passion and have big dreams.”

Tickets for We Make’s Celebrity Chef Harvest Event are available through EventBrite and range in price from $75 to $500 depending on the number of links you need and the amount of support you want to provide.
