Boater Dies After Jumping Into Greenwood Lake
Body of Paterson resident was recovered following a five-hour search Monday.
The body of a Paterson man was recovered from Greenwood Lake on Monday afternoon after a five-hour search, New York police said.
Ronald Huffin, 40, of Paterson, jumped off the bow of a boat shortly before noon and swam around to the back of the boat, Greenwood Lake police Chief John Hansen told the Times-Herald Record. According to Hansen, Hoffin went under the water and did not surface.
Huffin was boating on the lake near the New York/New Jersey border with his girlfriend, Arline Wallace, also of Paterson, and a friend, Dale Gervald, of Wayne, the report said.

Gervald followed his friend into the water, but was unable to find him, according to the report.
Greenwood Lake police responded to the scene, along with divers from the New York State Police and the West Milford, New Jersey Police Department, who recovered Huffin’s body at about 5 p.m., the reports said.
