Drunk Woman Crashed, Fled Scene, Police Say

Jefferson resident charged with DWI, leaving the scene and failure to report an accident.

A township woman was allegedly drunk when she crashed into a guard rail and fled the scene last month, Jefferson Police said.

Robin Nilon, 40, was charged with DWI, leaving the scene and failure to report an accident, according to Capt. Eric Wilsusen.

Police first responded on Nov. 16 to the McDonald's on Route 15 South on a report of an intoxicated female, Wilsusen said. Wilsusen said the officers saw Nilon's car parked crooked with a flat tire, a white streak down the side and a missing mirror.

After further investigation, officers determined Nilon allegedly drove drunk and hit a guard rail on Route 15 North before she went to McDonald's, Wilsusen said. No injuries were reported from the accident, he said.

Nilon was later released pending a Municipal Court appearance, Wilsusen said.
