DWI Checkpoint In Jefferson Scheduled For This Weekend

Jefferson law enforcement will set up a sobriety checkpoint on September 23 and September 24.

Law enforcement officials have announced a Driving While Intoxicated checkpoint this weekend in Jefferson Township. Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Investigations John Speirs, and Jefferson Township Chief of Police William Craig announced the scheduled joint DWI checkpoint this morning.

The checkpoint in Washington Township will be manned by law enforcement agents from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the Jefferson Township Police Department. The Jefferson Township checkpoint is an organized event authorized by a grant, The County DWI Enforcement Grant, the Prosecutor’s Office received from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. The grant was designed to establish checkpoints in cooperation with municipal police departments in the county.
