Cub Scout Pack 49 of Oak Ridge - Milton invites boys entering grades 1 through 5 in September 2012 to join Cub Scouts at our new member recruitment events scheduled for Thursday, May 17th and Thursday, June 7th at Cozy Lake School from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Boys and their parents are encouraged to attend to learn more about Scouting and sign up to begin participating in our summer 2012 activities, which include camping, marching in a parade, a drive-in movie night, miniature golf, and a trip to Pocono Raceway! Cub Scouts explore a variety of new interests and activities with other boys their age and participation helps them develop a sense of confidence, teamwork, responsibility and a spirit of service. Cubs meet in small groups (Dens) twice a month, and monthly with the entire group (Pack) to share experiences, activities and recognition. Cub Scout Pack 49 is an active group in the Jefferson community where the Scouts work help collect food and stock shelves at the New Hope Food Pantry, maintain the butterfly garden at the municipal center and hiking trails in Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, and march in the township parades. Additionally, we have many fun outings including monthly hikes, camping trips, and even trips to spend the night on a battleship!
