Gymboree Makes Its Return To Rockaway
A relaunch of the brand includes 15 new locations in New Jersey.
ROCKAWAY, NJ — Gymboree is returning to New Jersey, and Morris County residents are going to have easy access.
The Secaucus-based company announced last year it was closing its Gymboree stores, but The Children's Place said Wednesday it is relaunching the brand at more than 200 shop-in-shop locations across the country next month.
All told, 15 Children's Place stores in New Jersey will sell Gymboree items as of this year.

In Morris County, the only vendor of Gymboree items will be Rockaway Townsquare Mall.

In a statement from the company, Jane Elfers, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We are very proud to announce the return of Gymboree. The Gymboree team has worked tirelessly to bring this iconic brand back to its passionate and loyal customers."
Gymboree's launch will include eight collections in sizes 12M – 8, as well as exclusive, limited-time access to shop the new website.
According to the company, customers of the relaunched Gymboree can also expect:
- "Free Shipping, Free Returns, Everyday," with no minimum purchase for all online orders.
- A new mobile app that allows customers to shop.

Starting Feb. 3, Gymboree will announce how customers can reserve a spot to be one of the first to shop the new Spring 2020 collections. Early access will be granted to the first 10,000 people who reserve a spot.
In January 2019, Gymboree filed for bankruptcy and closed all its stores. The Children's Place paid $76 million in March 2019 to acquire the brand, as well as Gymboree's value brand, Crazy 8, according to a report from Chain Store Age.
Jennifer Groves, Senior Vice President of Design and Brand Creative said, "Gymboree was successfully built on capturing the essence of childhood in its product design.
