Halloween Curfew Back For 2017 In Jefferson

JEFFERSON, NJ — Make sure to avoid any tricks this year by knowing when Jefferson Township's Halloween curfew is in effect.

On Oct. 30 and 31, a curfew is in effect for anyone under 18 in Jefferson. Minors may not be out in any public spaces in the town after 9 p.m. on either day, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

People caught violating the curfew will be subject to a fine between $200 and $500, and could face 10 days of community service.

The curfew was enacted to curb Mischief Night mayhem, and end trick-or-treating by 9 p.m., following years of complaints by homeowners.
