JTHS Football Season Ends With Playoff Loss to River Dell

The Falcons end their 2013 season with a record of 7-3.

Though Jefferson Township High School's football team earned an early 10-point lead in the first-round game of the NJSIAA/Atlantic Health North Jersey Section 1, Group 3 playoffs, the visiting River Dell walked away with the win by a score of 35-17, the Star-Ledger reported.

Jefferson started the game with a Kyle Neuschatz touchdown followed by an Austin Blood field goal,  and a Kyle Neuschatz 12-yard touchdown run. Sadly for the Falcons, Neuschatz suffered an ankle injury afterward and had to leave the game, and the team could not regain its bearings, the article said.

Between the second quarter and the end of the game, fifth-seeded River Dell scored 28 unanswered points, and two fourth-quarter touchdowns by the visitors' Max Cepad sealed the Falcons' fate. The home team ends its 2013 season with a record of 7-3.
