Mayo PAC Cuts Ribbon on Renovations, Celebrates 20 Years

$2 million worth of enhancements completed in main lobby project.

From Bill Cosby to Aretha Franklin and local artists in between, the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown has been nothing short of a star-studded destination over the past 20 years.

In order to enjoy many more decades of artistry in the Morris County seat, the establishment recently underwent a host of renovations and changes, which were unveiled, coincidentally, on its 20th anniversary Monday, Sept. 29.

Nearly 100 invited guests celebrated the completion of the enhancements at a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the finished renovation of the front of the theatre, including a digital marquee, box office, expanded restrooms, an elevator, new bar and concessions and new lobby interior, according to Mayo PAC’s General Manager Ed Kirchdoerffer.

Cost of the entire project came to more than $2 million.

As part of the ceremony Tony-nominated composer Keith Herrmann created an original song title “It Feels Like Home,” which was performed by the Mayo PAC’s teen performing arts company.
