Meetings, Concerts and 5K On Tap This Week

Another busy week is beginning in Jefferson Township, with lots to keep you busy. You can hit a meeting or two, go to a concert or two or run a 5K. 

 If you’re having trouble with your teenager’s behavior, this is the group to go to for support. It meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the office.

The Jefferson Township High School Boys’ Soccer Association will hold its first meeting of the 2012 season on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the high school. If your son plays soccer for the , come to this meeting and find out how you can help the program.

 Wednesday starts Kids’ Month at . You can bring your kids into the office and get their spine checked. The hours are Monday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 3 – 7 p.m., Tuesday 3 – 6 p.m., Wednesday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 3 – 7 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 3 – 7 p.m. and Saturday 9 - 10:30 a.m.

: The Jefferson Township council meets on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Included on the agenda are a hearing on a violation of Slomin's solicitor's permit; an application for a loan for dam repair of Lake Hartung; budget discussions on a new truck for Fire Company No. 1 and renovation of the Prospect Point Fire House and the appointment of a new firefighter, Kevin Thomas, to Fire Company No. 2.

The music of Buddy Holly lives on with the band Rave On, who will perform at the gazebo outside the on Friday night at 7 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair and a picnic, a snack or some beverages (non-alcoholic only).

: is sponsoring its third annual Inferno 5K Run on Saturday. This scenic certified 5K run kicks off at 9 a.m. It is followed by an awards ceremony, refreshments, entertainment and a kids ½-mile race. : The latest in the features Bad Medicine performing the music of Bon Jovi. The concert will be at the on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for children 11-17. Children under 10 are admitted free with an adult ticket.
