No Arrests Yet In Wharton Armed Robbery: PD

Police believe the suspected robber fled the area entirely.

WHARTON, NJ — There are still no arrests following an armed robbery in Wharton Thursday morning, Wharton police said.

The armed robbery happened around 9:45 a.m. in the area of Elizabeth Street in Wharton on Thursday, police said. That evening, police said their on-scene investigation was over, and they believe the suspect left the area entirely. "We are confident that the public is safe to resume normal activity," police said.

The WPD will continue to investigate the robbery with the assistance of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

Reports of a shooting during the armed robbery were false, police said. Police have not released additional information about the robbery.
