Runners Take to the Streets of Lake Hopatcong
Fire Company No. 2 sponsors third annual 5K run.
Close to 300 runners took to the streets of Lake Hopatcong on Saturday morning for ’s third annual 5K Inferno Run. After a rainy early morning, the skies cleared in time for the start of the race.
Chris Sauer, 19, of Sparta, was the top finisher for the men, while Jefferson’s Jenna Bessemer came in first of the women.
Following the race, company no. 2 sponsored a party with a DJ, and offered breakfast food like bagels and fruit to the runners.
