Wednesday Last Chance to Donate to Boy Scout Toys for Tots Drive

Here's what you need to know for Wednesday:

• Looking for another way to give this holiday season? Wednesday is the final day Jefferson's Boy Scout Troop 49 will hold its 2013 Toys for Tots Collection Drive with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. Before your chance vanishes like snickerdoodles on Christmas Day, donate new, unwrapped toys suitable for kids up to age 12 to brighten the holidays for girls and boys who otherwise won't have much of a celebration.  Collection boxes are available through Wednesday  in the UPS store on Berkeshire Valley Road, inside the A&P Shopping Center, and at the Jefferson Township Library, 1031 Weldon Road. The Marines want us to remind you not to forget older kids, please, when you contribute gifts.
• Parent of a high school musician? Your kid may be busy this Wednesday. Practice for the Jefferson Township Jazz Band takes place from 6:30-7:40 p.m. in the band room. The Wind Ensemble meets for rehearsal in the same space directly afterward, from 7:40 p.m. through 9 p.m. JTHS is at 1010 Weldon Road in Oak Ridge.
