Less Than Half Of Lacey Is Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19

A new map launched by the state department of health shows that 30 percent of Lacey residents have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

LACEY, NJ — Less than half of Lacey's residents are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to a new map launched by the state health department on Monday.

For the first time Monday, the New Jersey Department of Health released town-level data on COVID-19 vaccinations. The state's COVID-19 dashboard now reveals the percentage of all people, adults and seniors who have been partially or fully vaccinated in each city and town. As of Monday, 30 percent of adults in Lacey have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to the map. Lacey still has work to do in order to get 70 percent of all adults fully vaccinated, in line with state goals.

The percentage is higher when broken down to the 18-and-up age group, as 38 percent of those residents have been vaccinated.

It’s even higher among seniors. According to the map, 73 percent of residents ages 65-and-older have been vaccinated.

New Jersey set a goal to fully vaccinate 70 percent of adults — 4.7 million people — by the end of June. About 3.7 million people in New Jersey have been fully vaccinated as of Wednesday afternoon.

All people 12 and older are eligible for vaccination in New Jersey as of Wednesday. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention panel approved the emergency-use authorization of Pfizer's vaccine for teens ages 12-15 on Wednesday afternoon.

Gov. Murphy said all New Jersey teens in that age group would be able to get the shot as early as Thursday.
