Amado V. Vives, MD, Well-Known Ocean County Surgeon, Dies At 79
Services for Lacey resident will be held on Friday at St. Pius R.C. Church.

Amado V. Vives, MD, of Forked River, died Dec. 20, 2016, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. He was 79.
Dr. Vives was a well-known and respected surgeon in Ocean County, who touched many people's lives during his 27-year career.

Dr. Vives had hospital privileges in Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin and Community Medical Center in Toms River before he retired in 1999. Dr. Vives was a Diplomate of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association.
He also was a parishioner of the Church of Saint Pius X, Forked River. Dr. Vives was born in the Philippines, came to the United States in 1965 and lived in Jersey City before moving to the Forked River, section of Lacey Township in 1972.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Patricia A. (Broderick); his three sons Kenneth of Sarasota, FL, Michael and his wife Kimberly of Mendham, NJ, Mark and his wife Laura of Vienna, VA: and four grandchildren Alex, Harrison, Grace and Matthew.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church of Saint Pius X, Forked River. Committal service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to your favorite charity would be appreciated. Please visit www.laytons.net to leave condolences to the family.
