Driver Charged With DWI After Two-Car Crash In Lacey: Police

A driver was charged with driving while intoxicated after crossing over a centerline and striking an oncoming car in Lacey, police said.

LACEY, NJ — A driver has been charged with driving while intoxicated after crossing over a centerline and striking an oncoming car in Lacey, police said.

Elaine Corliss, 50, was driving a Honda Pilot on Route 9 near Lakeside Drive South on Wednesday. Corliss' vehicle crossed over the centerline into an oncoming car just after 3:30 p.m., police said.

The man driving in the opposite lane was taken to a hospital for his injuries.

Corliss was determined to be under the influence and arrested at the scene, police said. She was charged with driving with intoxicated, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.

Corliss was also charged criminally with assault by auto. She was released in accordance with bail reform.
