Fatal Christmas Eve Crash In Lacey: Police
The vehicle traveled along the shoulder of the south side of the road before crossing over the roadway, police said.

LACEY – A 64-year-old man was killed in an Ocean County crash on Christmas Eve, police said.
Daniel O’Connor, of Myrtle Beach, S.C. was killed in the Tuesday crash that happened on Lacey Road at approximately 1:09 p.m., police said.
At that time, police say they responded responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Lacey Road approximately 3.5 miles west of the Garden State Parkway.

A preliminary investigation revealed that O’Connor was traveling east on Lacey Road when his vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason, police said.
The vehicle traveled along the shoulder of the south side of Lacey Road before crossing over the roadway, and then coming to rest down an embankment on the north side of Lacey Road, police said.

O’Connor was the only person in the vehicle, police said. He sustained a head injury as a result of the crash and was transported to Community Medical Center where he later died, police said.
Lacey Township EMS, MONOC Paramedics, as well as the Forked River and Bamber Lakes Fire Department, also responded to the scene. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit also responded to assist in the investigation.
