Georgian Court University awarded a posthumous degree to Kramer during the commencement ceremony. Each of her nursing school classmates placed a yellow rose next to the open chair, the Asbury Park Press reports.
“I’m grateful they’re doing this for her,” her mother Kelly Kramer, who is a nurse, told the publication. “It’s a mixed feeling. I’m very proud of her, but it also upsets me that I don’t get to see her do what she wanted to do so badly.”
