Happy Mother’s Day To Rose Mary Myles
"Your constant smile is a reminder to me that even though we may face challenges, there is always something to be happy about."

In celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday May 13, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their mother and let us deliver it. This is Kimberly Howcroft's letter to her mom:
Dear Mom,
I am 52 years old and still blessed to have both you and Daddy standing beside me. I love you both tremendously. However, in honor of Mother’s Day, I would like to pay tribute to you, mom, Rose Mary Myles, the most loving, gentle, and kind-hearted person I know. Your constant smile is a reminder to me that even though we may face challenges, there is always something to be happy about.
From the time Randy and I were born, you and Dad have been our biggest cheerleaders. When I say that I had a "Beaver Cleaver childhood," I am not exaggerating.
I would wake up each morning to the sound of WOBM playing on the radio in the kitchen and the delicious aroma of hot breakfast waiting for us at the dining-room table. Mom, you even made us little pancakes with smiley faces in them.
When we would arrive home from school, you would be there waiting for us at the bus stop and would ask us about our day on our short walk home. Almost daily, there were little surprises waiting for us, maybe a treat or some homemade cookies. Then, we would go out to play until supper was ready.
I could go on and on about the wonderful life you have provided for me, but there is not enough room in Lacey Patch, so I would like to thank you for:
Loving Daddy, giving me Randy, Bobo, family meals, coaching my teams, class mother, school conferences, basketball, Red Robins, brownies, Saturday morning cartoons, forts, bikes, school projects, garage sales, switching rooms, healing my pains, drying my tears, patience, church, sharing my joys, being the best Nannie and Great Nannie, stuffed shells, potato salad, Great Adventure, St. Joseph’s, Disney, driving lessons, sleepovers, nursing school, surgeries, college, weddings and showing me how to be a mother and Nannie.
Thank you for being my best friend, and thank you for my life.
Your grateful daughter,
Kimberly
