How Hurricane Dorian Could Impact Lacey

LACEY, NJ — Forecasts don't call for Hurricane Dorian to severely impact Lacey, but here's what to expect.

The National Weather Service expects the storm to pass through Lacey Friday night. Expect gusts up to 39 mph on Friday, the NWS says.

There's a low probability that the winds will reach tropical-storm speeds, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Lacey isn't under a flood advisory as of Thursday afternoon. But be ready to move vehicles from streets that typically experience flooding. High tide is set for 5:40 p.m. Friday and 6:08 a.m. Saturday.

The surf will build rapidly through Friday evening, which could make swimming dangerous at the Jersey Shore. Rough surf could continue through the weekend as weather improves.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office said people should not enter the ocean this weekend.
