James J. Pavlick Sr. Of Lanoka Harbor Dies At 77

Services are slated for Sunday and Monday.

James J. Pavlick, Sr., 77, of Lanoka Harbor, Lacey Township, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016.

Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Bayville before moving to Lanoka Harbor 24 years ago.

James retired in 2001 as a supervisor for the State of New Jersey at Arthur Brisbane Child Treatment Center in Allaire, NJ, after 28 years.

Prior to working for the state, James worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital and was owner of B&J Grocery & Deli in Elizabeth.

He was a parishioner of St. Barnabas R.C. Church, Bayville, NJ, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

James was also a volunteer for the Linden Ambulance Corps and the Ambulance Corps of St Elizabeth Hospital Sisters of Charity. He was also involved with the Polish Falcons Drum & Bugle Corp.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Barbara Ella (nee Howell), three sons James Pavlick, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Forked River, NJ, Donald Pavlick of Lanoka Harbor and William Pavlick and his wife Pat of Forked River, three grandchildren Jessica Lynn Pavlick, Katlyn Kimmarie Pavlick and Chelsea Marie Pavlick, two sisters-in-law Adrianne Makowski of North Carolina and Arleene Howell of Florida, and two nephews, Brian Makowksi of Bayville and Edward Makowski of North Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals O'Connell Chapel, 706 Route 9, Bayville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, Bayville, NJ. Committal will be private.
