Judith Ann (Conroy) Gilbert Of Lanoka Harbor Dies At 78

Judith Ann (Conroy) Gilbert, 78, of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, passed away on Jan. 10, 2017, peacefully in her sleep.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan.12, at Layton's Home for Funerals, 250 W. Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ. The funeral service will be Friday at 9:30AM at Layton's followed by a procession to Hillside Cemetery, 742 Rutherford Ave., Lyndhurst, NJ.

Judy was born in Passaic General Hospital on September 20, 1938. She graduated from East Rutherford High School in 1956 and soon after married George Gilbert of Wood-Ridge, NJ, and owned and operated Gilbert's Nursery in Wood-Ridge for 30 years. She then retired to Beach Haven, NJ.

Judy is preceded in death by her father, Frank, and mother, Ethel Conroy. She is survived by her children, Deborah L. Cardinale, George and daughter-in-law, Laura Gilbert, and Kelly and son-in-law, Dave Mahon, and her 6 grandchildren Anthony, Brianna, Jonathan, Jessica, Ryan and Connor.
