LACEY, NJ — A customer at Lacey's Perkins proved there's still some good in the world, even after a minor slip-up.

A few weeks ago, a customer took a bottle of ketchup from Perkins. But this customer left an anonymous note saying they experienced consequences: someone crashed into their car, they've experienced bad karma and the guilt mounted.

The customer, however, may have broken the curse. They left an apologetic note and two new ketchup bottles at Perkins.

Here's what the note says:

"Dear Lacey Perkins, A few weeks ago, I had taken one of your ketchup bottles off the table because for some odd reason I thought it'd be "risky." I am as square as they come and this is the worst thing I've done.

"Well, a few hours (after) I did it someone crashed into my car, and since then my karma, luck, and life have been shit. I hope returning two new bottles will restore some for me, and I can stop carrying around this guilty. Again, I'm really sorry I inconvenienced you the same way my life has been inconveniencing me. I'm sorry. =( From, an awful person."

Maria DiLeo found the note and posted it to the Lacey Township Chatter Facebook group.

"To the person that returned this," DiLeo said, "You are forgiven. Hope all goes better for you, lesson learned."

We might never know whether this person's luck turns around. But hopefully this ordeal made them realize this is not the work of an "awful person."
