LACEY, NJ — Buddy occasionally crashes into Big Daddy and knocks him over. But it's OK, because Big Daddy is happy to help his son who is totally blind. The two dogs have made the improbable journey from a North Carolina shelter to Lacey's Associated Humane Popcorn Park Shelter.

Now Associated Humane Societies seeks donations continue to provide happy lives for Buddy and Big Daddy. The Popcorn Park Animal Refuge posted a donation link Saturday on its Facebook page. They're also looking for a forever home for both.

Buddy — a 2-year-old boxer mix — and his 4-year-old father, Big Daddy, lived in a small, overcrowded North Carolina animal shelter over a year ago, according to Popcorn Park. Finding a loving home presented challenges, since it's tougher to get two dogs adopted together, especially when one has a disability.

Then AHS and Popcorn Park received an email about them. They couldn't say no. Flying Fur Animal Rescue, and their pilot, Paul Steklenski, travelled from Wilson, North Carolina, to bring them to New Jersey.

Blind dogs get around fine once acclimated to new surroundings, Popcorn Park says. But Buddy tends to rely on Big Daddy to show him around.

According to Popcorn Park, they're well-behaved dogs who love people of all ages and other pooches. Popcorn Park encourages people to stop by and help them build a happy future.
