Lacey Man Killed In Route 9 Motorcycle Crash

A 23-year-old Forked River man succumbed to his injuries.

LACEY, NJ — A motorcycle crash killed a Forked River man Sunday on Route 9. Police identified the victim as Louis Dautorio, 23, of Forked River.

The incident occurred just after 5 a.m. Sunday on Route 9 near Bay Avenue. Preliminary investigation revealed Dautorio traveled north on Route 9 when his motorcycle left the road and struck a sign, police said. He succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities closed Route 9 between South Lakeside Drive and Station Drive for several hours Sunday morning.

Lacey Township EMS, RWJ Paramedics and the Forked River Fire Department responded to the scene. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI Unit assisted with investigating. The New Jersey Department of Transportation helped close Route 9.
