Lacey Native Earns NJAC Baseball Award For Stockton

Ray Hughes earned NJAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.

GALLOWAY, N.J. — Lacey native and Stockton University senior Ray Hughes earned NJAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Monday for the second time this season. The Lacey High School product threw seven scoreless innings and struck out nine in Stockton's 4-1 win Saturday against New Jersey City University.

The victory put Hughes at 4-1 with 39 strikeouts and a 1.38 ERA in 26 innings this season. He leads the Ospreys in wins, ERA, strikeouts, opposing batting average (.170) and innings pitched.

With the victory, Hughes is tied for the New Jersey Athletic Conference lead in wins. He also placed second in strikeouts and fourth in ERA and opposing batting average.

Hughes advanced to sixth in school history with 145 career strikeouts. Stockton is 11-5 overall, 1-1 in the NJAC.
