Lacey Popeyes Approved, Franchisee Hopes To Open This Year
The Planning Board approved a Popeyes for the former site of Burger King.

LACEY, NJ — Popeyes is coming to Lacey. The Planning Board approved a proposal for the chicken joint at the former site of Burger King.
The owners hope to open sometime this year, according to Zabair Chaudhry, president of Lacey Z, Inc., which applied to develop the Popeyes. It will depend on when they can get a permit to construct it, a process that faces delays because of the coronavirus, he told Patch.

The governing body approved it at its June 8 meeting. The site is located at the Lacey Mall.
Popeyes has more than 2,700 fried-chicken restaurants around the nation and the world. Many of the restaurants are franchised.
