Lacey Postpones Halloween Trick-Or-Treating To Nov. 1

Trick-or-treating has been moved to Friday because of a bad forecast on Halloween.

LACEY, NJ — Lacey's Halloween will not be on Halloween. The Township postponed trick-or-treating to this Friday because of the bad-weather forecast.

Towns around New Jersey have wrestled with how to handle trick-or-treating with Thursday's forecast. Some have also rescheduled their festivities.

Ocean City announced Wednesday that the City would postpone trick-or-treating to 5-8 p.m. Friday. North Plainfield moved its trick-or-treating to Friday, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., while South Plainfield is offering Saturday as an alternative.

Thursday night's forecast in Lacey calls for a chance of showers with gusts up to 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The Township doesn't have a curfew or official trick-or-treating hours. But officials ask children and parents not to knock at homes with the lights out.
