Lacey Schools Pivot To Full Remote Learning For 2 Weeks

The Lacey Township School District will transition to full remote learning beginning Monday.

LACEY, NJ — The Lacey Township School District will transition to full remote learning beginning Monday. The district will return to in-person learning on Jan. 25, with the A/B hybrid cohort model.

In a letter to parents on Friday, Superintendent Vanessa P. Clark said the pivot is due to the “significant increase in community-based COVID-19 related cases and quarantining from individuals who have COVID-19 related symptoms.”

“Therefore, in collaboration with and upon the recommendation of the Ocean County Health Department, we have made the difficult decision to pause our in-person instruction and transition to a full remote model of instruction for all students,” Clark wrote.

Clark said the district will continue to perform appropriate contact tracing, communicate any required quarantine recommendations and clean school buildings.

During this time period, teachers will provide meeting times, directions and assignments through their Google Classroom or Canvas account.
