Lacey: What To Do Before This Weekend's Blizzard

Although Lacey might not endure the brunt of the storm, here's what you need to know to stay safe and avoid violations.

New Jersey could experience up to 11 inches of snow, heavy rain and wind and potential power outages this weekend, according to forecasters. Although the National Weather Service doesn't expect Ocean County to get the brunt of the storm, Lacey police offered the following advice for staying safe and avoiding violations:

  • Residents living in flooding areas should place their vehicles at Gille Park parking lot, adjacent to to playground area, police said. Gille Park is located at 102 Manchester Ave., Forked River.
  • Vehicles left in the road will be ticketed or towed, according to police.
  • Lacey police advises residents to put away portable basketball hoops, garbage cans or any other possession that might be in the roadway.

Lacey's Public Works Department is already preparing for this weekend's storm, police said. Officers will assist Public Works with removing parked cars and checking for dangerous conditions, police said. If you call the police during the storm, the call volume could be very high due to the extreme conditions, authorities said.
