LACEY, NJ — A Lacey resident reported a phone scam to police on Friday that asked her to purchase and provide gift cards.
Officer Michael Hutman received the theft report on April 30 at 11:47 a.m.
A woman said that she was contacted by Cyber Security advising her of fraudulent activity on her accounts, according to police.

She was convinced to allow the caller access to her computer and to purchase gift cards as payment.
She provided the caller with the codes of the gift cards before realizing that the incident was fraudulent, police said.
