Man Runs Marathon For Liver Research, Honors Mom In Lacey: Report
Brian Kretschmar is running the Boston Marathon and raising money for liver research. Here's how you can donate.

BOSTON — As over 30,000 runners endure the Boston Marathon on Monday, one will help his mother who lives in Lacey. Brian Kretschmar has raised funds for the fight against liver disease, which his mother has had for as long as he can remember, according to Enterprise News.
Kretschmar has raised $5,692 of his $8,000 goal as of Monday morning for the American Liver Foundation. Click here to donate.
He's running in honor of his mother, Debra Kretschmar, who suffers from advanced liver disease, according to Enterprise News. She has Hepatic Encephalopathy, which the American Liver Foundation says causes temporary worsening of brain function in people with advanced liver disease, Enterprise News reports.

"Every step I take and every dollar I raise will make a difference in the lives of the millions of Americans living with liver disease," Brian Kretschmar said on his fundraising page. "By making a donation on my behalf, you will be helping the American Liver Foundation provide critical funding for medical research, public education and patient support services."
