National Weather Service Issues Flood Watch For Ocean County

The watch will expire on Sunday evening, NWS says

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ - You didn't really think we'd avoid a flood watch with all this torrential rain, did you?

Well, we haven't. The National Weather Service in Mt. Holly has issued a flood watch for the Jersey Shore through Sunday evening. Up to two to three inches of rain is possible through tonight and into Sunday.

Flooding most likely will occur in low-lying areas where the heaviest rain occurs. Streams, creeks and rivers could flood by late Sunday.

A flood watch means there's a potential for flooding based on the current forecast. Residents should continue to monitor later forecasts and watch for possible flood warnings, the NWS says.

"Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop," according to the NWS says.
