New Lacey Salon Combines Modern Style With Family Atmosphere
Here's a look inside Lacey's new salon, which will hold its grand opening Dec. 14.

LACEY, NJ — Chloe Henderson, owner of Salon 517, wanted to go to college to be a music therapist working with special needs children. When she took a moment to reevaluate her planned career path, Henderson's mother urged her to pursue a career in hair styling. She did her own hair for prom and has a passion for styling.
Henderson attended Paul Mitchell The School Jersey Shore — a cosmetology school — in Brick and has been doing hair for nine years. She worked at Sophia's Roots Hair Salon before ultimately deciding to open her own hair salon.
It has always been Henderson's dream to open a shop. She wanted to establish a modern in-style salon with a family-friendly environment.

The unisex shop opened on Sept. 17 on 629 Route 9. It was named in honor of her grandmother's birth date of May 17.
"My grandmother was one of my biggest supporters," Henderson said.

Salon 517 is a full-service salon that offers eye lash extensions and waxing — two services that are rare offer from a hair salon, according to Henderson. Customers can relax in the waiting area with a cup of coffee or tea.
Patrons can also purchase a gift card for $75, and the shop will honor it for $100. Salon 517 also features hair care products from Kevin Murphy and Amika, as well cremes and various lotions.

Salon 517 will be holding their grand opening ceremony from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 14. There will be refreshments, giveaways, retail specials and gift certificates.
"We're going to be your friends, your family and we're going to give you a good service," Henderson said.
