Outages, Wires Down In Lacey Amid Tropical Storm Isaias

LACEY, NJ — Thousands have lost power, and wires have been knocked down in Lacey as Tropical Storm Isaias travels up the East Cost.

Jersey Central Power & Light has reported 8,172 power outages as of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. The company has reported 101,590 active outages in Ocean County, leaving 39.88 percent of the area without power.

Lacey Road is closed in both directions at Shepard Avenue because of wires down, police said at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday. The road is also closed both way between Eagleswood Place and Deerhead Lake Drive, police said at 1:30 p.m. Avoid the areas until further notice.

Winds have peaked at 66 mph in Berkeley, according to the Rutgers Weather Network, which monitors conditions at about 60 weather stations around the state.
